Mark Becomes One of the First Ever Ambassadors for the National Trust
Early in 2025, Mark became an Ambassador for the National Trust, along with George Clark, Alice Loxton, Professor Mary Beard, David Olusoga, to name just a few. More information can be found on the National Trust website, by following this link: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/about-us/our-ambassadors
Mark says:
” As an art historian, garden designer, gardener, garden historian, disability advocate, lover of architecture, antiques, heritage and fine art, I strongly believe that our national treasures must be preserved, which is why I wholeheartedly support the work of the National Trust. I’ve been a member for a long time and have many wonderful childhood memories of visiting National Trust places.
The charity continues to look to the future through accessibility and inclusivity, LGBTQ+ events and stories of key people throughout history, and modern conservation techniques. Each place contains something magical. The stories, insights, intrigue, beauty, wonder, history and even a few murders that can now be shared with millions each year are truly remarkable. I am honoured to part of this incredible charity.”
