National Trust Ambassador

National Trust Ambassador

Mark becomes one of the first ever National Trust Ambassadors for his contribution to horticulture, garden design, garden history, art, architecture and natural history.

In 2025, the National Trust launched an ambassador programme for the first time in its 130-year history. The ambassadors share a passion for their charitable purpose and will use their networks and expertise to raise awareness of the National Trust’s cause to protect nature, beauty and history, for everyone, for ever.

The National Trust has had advocates and supporters since it was first founded in 1895. Support from well-known figures such as children’s author Beatrix Potter, activist Octavia Hill and campaigner Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley was integral to founding a trust that preserved nature, beauty and history for everyone.

The National Trust wants to restore nature and provide equal access to nature, beauty and history, and to inspire current and future generations to care for nature and heritage. The chosen ambassadors represent the causes, share the values of the National Trust and are dedicated to protecting wildlife, history and making the places welcoming to everyone. Each Ambassador specialises in an area of the charity’s cause – whether in nature, conservation or history.
